Chief Minister MK Stalin is set to travel to New Delhi on September 26 to address the pressing financial challenges faced by Tamil Nadu’s education department, stemming from the delay in the implementation of the National Education Policy and the second phase of the Chennai Metro Rail project. Stalin will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 27, following an appointment granted by the PMO, after Modi’s return from the United States.
During the meeting, Stalin plans to submit a memorandum seeking the release of the Centre’s share of funds under the Samagra Shiksha Scheme, which have been delayed, and to discuss the stalled funds for the Phase II expansion of the Chennai Metro Rail. Additionally, Stalin may engage with other leaders from the opposition INDIA bloc during his trip.
Stalinās visit follows his return from a business trip to the US, where he had indicated his intention to seek an audience with the Prime Minister to expedite fund disbursement to Tamil Nadu.
