BJP National Mahila Morcha President Vanathi Srinivasan has criticized the DMK government for refusing permission for the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) rally, which was set to commemorate its centenary year. She described the decision as revealing the “fascist face” of the DMK government. In her statement, Vanathi highlighted that RSS marches are known for their discipline and peaceful nature, where participants wear uniforms and march in military-like precision. “All the previous RSS marches have taken place peacefully,” she said.
Vanathi pointed out that while the RSS marches have been conducted without any issues in states like Kashmir, the northeastern regions, and even in Kerala, where the Communist Party rules, it is only in Tamil Nadu that permission is being denied. She called this an example of the “fascist” tendencies of the DMK government.
She further emphasized that India is a democratic country where the Constitution allows anyone to conduct rallies and processions. “While on one hand, the DMK government claims to protect the Constitution, on the other hand, it is stripping away the fundamental rights provided by the very same Constitution,” Vanathi said, condemning the governmentâs actions as fascist.
