Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Monday virtually inaugurated mini Tidel parks in the districts of Salem and Thanjavur, marking a significant step toward expanding the state’s information technology sector into smaller towns. These developments are part of the state’s broader effort to foster job creation and boost economic growth in non-metropolitan areas.
Speaking from the state secretariat, CM Stalin inaugurated the Tidel parks, which have been developed by the state’s Industries Department. The mini Tidel park in Thanjavur spans 55,000 square feet and was constructed at a cost of ₹30.50 crore. During the virtual launch, the Chief Minister issued allotment orders to companies such as Hamly Business Solutions India and Inforios Software Technologies India for office space within the Thanjavur facility, which has already seen 30% of its space reserved.
Similarly, the Salem mini Tidel park, also measuring 55,000 square feet and developed at a cost of ₹29.50 crore, has already allocated 71% of its space. Companies including Namma Office, AKS Hitech Smart, Tamil Zorous, Telth Healthcare, and Access Healthcare were issued allotment orders. Both parks are equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including uninterrupted power supply, high-speed communication networks, and amenities like gyms and canteens.
These facilities are expected to accommodate around 500 IT professionals, contributing significantly to local job creation and the socioeconomic development of the Salem and Thanjavur regions. The initiative follows the recent launch of a similar mini Tidel park in Villupuram on September 17, reflecting the state’s commitment to decentralizing IT growth.
State ministers KN Nehru (Municipal Administration), Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi (School Education), and TRB Rajaa (Industries), along with Chief Secretary N Muruganandam, were present at the event.
