The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has announced an extension of the quarterly holiday for students until October 6th, moving the school reopening date from October 3rd to October 7th. This decision follows a request from the teachers’ union, highlighting the need for additional time for both students and educators.Quarterly exams for students in classes 6 to 10 commenced on September 27th, with the holidays initially set to conclude on October 3rd. The extension aligns the current academic break with previous years, allowing for a total of nine days off, which includes weekends and the Gandhi Jayanti holiday on October 2nd.
In addition to the extended break for students, teachers are required to use this time to evaluate answer sheets and upload the results to the Education Management Information System (EMIS). The extension ensures that teachers have adequate time to complete these essential tasks while providing students with a more extended vacation period.
This decision is expected to benefit both students and teachers, allowing for a more balanced approach to academic responsibilities during the holiday season.
