As Rajinikanth continues to recuperate at a Chennai hospital, his wife, Latha received a call from PM Narendra Modi enquiring about the actor’s health.
Tamil Nadu BJP State President K Annamalai shared the update on his official X, formerly Twitter page.
Sharing a picture of the actor with PM Modi on his X, he wrote, “Our Hon. PM Thiru @narendramodi avl spoke telephonically to Smt. Latha Rajinikanth avl today to inquire about the health of our Super Star Thiru @rajinikanth avl. Hon PM was informed about the well-being of Thiru Rajinikanth avl post-surgery & Hon PM wished him a speedy recovery (sic)”.
In a statement released by the hospital’s Medical Director, Dr. Venkatachalam, it was confirmed that Rajinikanth was admitted for treatment of a blockage in the “aorta,” the major artery that carries blood from the heart to other parts of the body. The blockage was located in the abdominal region. Fortunately, this condition could be corrected without surgery through a procedure known as “transcatheter intervention.”
Following this approach, senior cardiologist Dr. Sai Satheesh successfully placed a stent to correct the blood vessel blockage. Currently, Rajinikanth’s condition is stable and healthy. Doctors anticipate that he will be able to return home in two days.
Fans and well-wishers have expressed their support for the beloved actor, hoping for a swift recovery. Rajinikanth’s health has always been a concern for his admirers, and the news of his hospitalization has prompted an outpouring of good wishes.
