Vettaiyan, the much-anticipated film starring superstar Rajinikanth, has cleared its censorship formalities and has been awarded a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film, produced by Lyca Productions, is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on October 10, 2024.
Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan boasts a star-studded ensemble cast, with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan making his Tamil debut in the role of Sathyadev. This film marks a historic reunion for Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, who are sharing the screen for the first time in 33 years. The duo last collaborated in the 1991 Hindi film Hum.
Joining them are talented actors such as Fahadh Faasil, who portrays the character Patrick, Rana Daggubati as Natraj, Manju Warrier as Thara, Ritika Singh as Roopa, Kishore as Harish, Abhirami as Swetha, Dushara Vijayan as Saranya, Rohini as Nazeema, and VJ Rakshan. The filmâs audio and prevue were recently launched in a grand event in Chennai.
