Vettaiyan, the much-anticipated film starring superstar Rajinikanth, has cleared its censorship formalities and has been awarded a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film, produced by Lyca Productions, is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on October 10, 2024.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan boasts a star-studded ensemble cast, with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan making his Tamil debut in the role of Sathyadev. This film marks a historic reunion for Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, who are sharing the screen for the first time in 33 years. The duo last collaborated in the 1991 Hindi film Hum.

Joining them are talented actors such as Fahadh Faasil, who portrays the character Patrick, Rana Daggubati as Natraj, Manju Warrier as Thara, Ritika Singh as Roopa, Kishore as Harish, Abhirami as Swetha, Dushara Vijayan as Saranya, Rohini as Nazeema, and VJ Rakshan. The casting of such a diverse ensemble has further fueled excitement among fans.

The film’s audio and prevue were recently launched in a grand event in Chennai. The glimpse has left audiences intrigued, suggesting that Vettaiyan will explore the contentious issue of extrajudicial killings by police officers. Adding to the anticipation, the trailer is set to be released on October 2, ahead of the film’s premiere.

In terms of technical craftsmanship, Vettaiyan features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth after previous hits. SR Kathir serves as the cinematographer, while Philomin Raj takes charge of editing, promising a visually stunning and well-paced film.

With such a talented team both on and off the screen, Vettaiyan is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, with fans eagerly awaiting its release on October 10.
