
AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) expressed deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of five people during the Indian Air Force (IAF) air show at Chennaiās Marina Beach. In a strong statement, EPS criticized the state government for failing to provide adequate safety measures, leading to the unfortunate incident.
He condemned the government for its negligence, stating that despite claims of proper arrangements, basic necessities like drinking water were unavailable for the attendees. EPS pointed out that the government had failed to effectively organize such an important event, resulting in the tragic loss of lives.
Responding to the criticism, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma. Subramanian defended the governmentās role, asserting that the state provided full administrative support for the successful execution of the air show.
He highlighted that the state made all necessary arrangements for the event, including the provision of temporary toilets and drinking water facilities at the Marina Beach. Additionally, 7,500 police personnel were deployed to ensure the safety of the massive crowd.
Minister Subramanian emphasized that the event, which was organized by the Indian Air Force, received full cooperation from the government and that extensive measures had been taken to accommodate the large turnout.
