Sellur Raju, former minister and senior AIADMK leader, recently made a strong statement regarding the future of governance in Tamil Nadu. According to him, the current DMK government is ineffective and needs to be replaced to restore order in the state. He criticized the ruling party, claiming that Tamil Nadu has become a hub for drug abuse, with illegal substances being easily available around schools and colleges.“The police, who are responsible for controlling this menace, are turning a blind eye to the situation,” he alleged, expressing concern over the increasing spread of drug use, especially among the youth. He emphasized that if the state wants to protect its younger generation, a capable and honest government must be in power.
“To eliminate drug abuse and safeguard the future of our youth, Tamil Nadu needs good governance,” Sellur Raju stated. He firmly believes that such governance can only come from the AIADMK, particularly under the leadership of Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
Raju expressed confidence in his party’s ability to lead, stating, “True governance will flourish in Tamil Nadu under AIADMK, and this will happen in 2026 under the leadership of Palaniswami. We will achieve victory in all 10 constituencies in Madurai, and this success will extend across the entire state.”
His remarks highlight AIADMK’s ambitions to make a strong comeback in the upcoming 2026 elections, with the promise of restoring effective governance.
