Three prominent figures from the BJP have joined AIADMK and been assigned important roles within the party. Actress Gautami, Thada Periyasamy, and Fathima Ali have been given key responsibilities by AIADMK’s General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami.Gautami, who was a member of the BJP National Executive for over 25 years, left the party after being dissatisfied with the allocation of the Rajapalayam constituency in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. She has now been appointed as the AIADMK’s Deputy Secretary for Policy Propagation.
Similarly, Thada Periyasamy, who left the BJP due to discontent over not being granted the Chidambaram Lok Sabha constituency, has been given the role of Deputy Secretary of the MGR Mandram in AIADMK.
Fathima Ali, who was previously part of a BJP support organization, joined AIADMK before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. She has now been appointed as the Deputy Secretary of the Minority Wing in AIADMK.
Additionally, Sannyasi, who was serving as the Secretary of the AIADMK’s Farmers’ Wing in Kallakurichi district, has been relieved of his position and reassigned as Deputy Secretary of the party’s Farmers’ Wing.
These appointments mark significant shifts in party leadership and strategy as AIADMK continues to strengthen its ranks ahead of future elections.
