The Consulate-General of Japan in Chennai, in association with ABK-AOTS DOSOKAI, Tamil Nadu Centre, and VR Chennai, is hosting the Chennai Japan Expo 2024 on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at VR Chennai, Anna Nagar, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. This one-day cultural festival is open to all, free of charge, and promises an immersive experience celebrating the diverse facets of Japanese culture, tourism, education, and business.

The Expo will feature exhibitions and live workshops, with insights into Japan’s travel attractions presented by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) and Japan Airlines (JAL). Students can explore education and scholarship opportunities in Japan through Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) and university representatives. Additionally, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will present career opportunities in Japanese industries, along with a panel discussion on India-Japan collaborations.

Cultural enthusiasts can enjoy displays of Japanese arts like Ikebana and Bonsai, witness martial arts demonstrations, and participate in traditional Japanese music and dance performances, including the vibrant Soran-bushi dance.

The Expo serves as a bridge for cultural exchange, enhancing India-Japan ties. Mr. Takahashi Muneo, Consul-General of Japan in Chennai, will inaugurate the event at 11:30 a.m.
