Chennai Anna University Director P. Hariharan emphasized the importance of engineering students visiting factories to understand their operations while still pursuing their studies. He shared these insights on Wednesday during the launch of an integrated training program at the university’s affiliated college in Ponnerri, Kanchipuram.
The event was inaugurated by M. Jayaprakash, CEO of the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation, who lit the ceremonial lamp and highlighted the ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ scheme being implemented in government colleges. He noted that the program aims to enhance students’ technical skills and improve job opportunities.
H.L. Mando Anand Private Limited’s Joint Managing Director was also present and announced that the company would bear the students’ expenses, including tuition, food, transportation, and accommodation.
Director P. Hariharan detailed the benefits of integrated training programs, stressing the essential role of practical factory visits for engineering students. College Principal V. Kavitha welcomed the attendees, and the event saw participation from HR officers of H.L. Mando, faculty members, and other dignitaries.
