AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has expressed deep concern over the Tamil Nadu government’s inaction regarding the deteriorating state of the health sector, despite repeated warnings and pleas.
In a recent statement, Palaniswami highlighted the rising cases of dengue and viral fevers in Tamil Nadu, urging the government to take proactive measures. He called for the establishment of fever camps, blood testing facilities, and door-to-door checks to identify individuals affected by fevers. He emphasized the need to monitor the accumulation of rainwater in areas like old tires and containers, which are potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Palaniswami also stressed the importance of ensuring an adequate supply of medicines in all government hospitals and regular mosquito control measures.
He noted that despite repeated calls for preventive actions, the government’s negligence has led to tragic consequences, with a young girl recently losing her life to dengue. Expressing condolences to the girl’s family, Palaniswami urged the Chief Minister and the Health Department to immediately implement the necessary preventive measures statewide to avoid further loss of life.
