CM inaugurates school buildings built at a cost of Rs 171 cr

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated various school buildings constructed at a cost of ₹171 crore under the Department of School Education.
The Department of School Education has completed the construction of 745 classrooms, 17 laboratories, and toilet facilities in 141 government schools across 29 districts at a total cost of ₹169.26 crore. Additionally, under the Integrated School Education Scheme, a residential school building for Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya was constructed at Pascheri near Sankarapuram in Kallakurichi district at a cost of ₹94.7 lakh.
In Perambalur district, a residential school building for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Avishi Vidyalaya was constructed in Malayappa Nagar near Alathur at a cost of ₹95.2 lakh. These facilities were inaugurated by Chief Minister Stalin through a video conference held at the Secretariat.
The Chief Minister also handed over appointment orders to 43 junior assistants and six typists, as part of compassionate appointments, to the families of 49 employees who had passed away during their service in the Department of School Education.
The event was attended by Ministers K.N. Nehru, Ponmudy, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Chief Secretary V. Irai Anbu, School Education Secretary Kakarla Usha, and other officials.
The Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya operates under the Central Government’s “Education for All” initiative, while the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Avishi Vidyalaya functions under the “Samagra Shiksha” scheme.
