Rajkumar Periasamy has joined hands with acclaimed actor Dhanush for his 55th film. Tentatively titled D55, the upcoming project will be produced by Anbuchezhiyan and Sushmita Anbuchezhiyan under the Gopuram Films banner.While further details regarding the cast, plot, and title remain under wraps, the announcement has already generated excitement among fans. Sharing his enthusiasm, director Rajkumar Periasamy said, “When good things happen, they happen in a row! A series of optimistic feelings continues with D55, featuring one of the greatest performers in the country, the powerhouse of talent, Dhanush sir! Thank you Anbuchezhiyan sir and Sushmita Anbuchezhiyan ma’am of Gopuram Films for making this happen.”
The announcement marks an eventful day for Dhanush, who also revealed that his fourth directorial venture, Idli Kadai, is slated for release on April 10, 2025. This film will see him reunite with his Thiruchitrambalam co-star Nithya Menen, with music composed by GV Prakash.
Dhanush, last seen directing Raayan, has a robust lineup of projects at various stages of production. Currently, he is involved in Sekhar Kammula’s Kubera, the Maestro biopic directed by Arun Matheswaran, Aanand L Rai’s Tere Ishk Mein, and an untitled project with Mari Selvaraj.
In addition, Dhanush is awaiting the release of his third directorial film, Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, featuring Priya Prakash Varrier, Mathew Thomas, Anikha Surendran, and Rabiya Khatoon.
Rajkumar Periasamy, meanwhile, is riding high on the success of Amaran, his recent biographical film starring Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan, with Sai Pallavi portraying his wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese.
