Salem, Nov 9: A major accident occurred near Sankagiri on the Coimbatore-Salem National Highway when a private omni bus collided with a motorcycle, leading to a severe crash. The bus overturned following the impact, causing significant damage and resulting in a fire outbreak.According to initial reports, the private bus, traveling at high speed, struck a motorbike and subsequently flipped over. The sudden overturn led to the vehicle catching fire, creating a scene of chaos. Emergency responders arrived promptly at the site, rescuing over 20 passengers from the bus, most of whom sustained minor injuries.
Unfortunately, the motorcyclist involved in the accident died at the scene. Authorities, including the Sankagiri Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raja and his team, have begun a thorough investigation into the incident to determine the causes and any potential lapses in safety.
