H. Raja, the coordinator of the Tamil Nadu BJP Committee, addressed several critical issues during a recent press conference in Tiruthani, Thiruvallur district.Concerns Over Education
Raja highlighted significant concerns in Tamil Nadu’s educational landscape. He stated that there are approximately 10,000 fraudulent school teachers operating within the state’s education system. Additionally, he pointed out that in 1,500 government schools, the number of students from grades one to eight remains in single digits. These schools, he noted, are at risk of closure due to insufficient student enrollment.
Proposal for a Sports University
Raja also referenced an earlier proposal he made during his tenure as an MLA in 2001. He advocated for the establishment of a sports university in Karaikudi and mentioned that then-Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa had accepted the idea. However, he expressed disappointment that current developments have seen Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin proposing the creation of a sports university in Sriperumbudur instead.
Comments on Actor Vijay’s Political Ambitions
Addressing the political entry of actor Vijay, Raja remarked that while anyone aged 18 or above has the right to vote and form a political party, he finds Vijay’s vision and actions unclear. He suggested that the actor’s political strategies lack direction and coherence.
On BJP-ADMK Alliance
Raja further commented on the ongoing discussions around the BJP-AIADMK alliance. “I have been with the BJP for 35 years and have never spoken about alliances. Whatever decision the party leadership makes will be final,” he stated. Raja also criticized former minister D. Jayakumar for his contradictory statements regarding the alliance, calling his remarks absurd.
“It’s concerning to think that he might soon declare, ‘I have no alliance, no connection, and no association with the AIADMK,’” Raja added, pointing to Jayakumar’s inconsistent messaging.
H. Raja’s comments have sparked further discussion about the state of education and political alignments in Tamil Nadu as the region anticipates future electoral dynamics.
