Gold prices in Chennai experienced a slight upward movement on November 15, with a rise of Rs 10 per gram for 22-carat gold. This brings the current rate to Rs 6,945 per gram, and an increase of Rs 80 per sovereign (8 grams), setting the price at Rs 55,560 per sovereign.
This slight recovery follows a notable period of declining prices. Gold had reached an all-time high of Rs 59,520 per sovereign on October 30, leading analysts to speculate that the price could soon touch Rs 60,000. However, the market did not sustain this peak, and prices experienced a significant drop. On November 14, gold prices fell by Rs 880 per sovereign, landing at Rs 55,480 per sovereign.
In contrast, the price of silver has remained stable, with no changes reported. It continues to be sold at Rs 99 per gram as of November 15.
The recent fluctuations in gold prices highlight the volatility of the precious metal market, impacted by a range of factors, including global economic trends and investor sentiment. Market observers will be watching closely to see if this slight increase signals a reversal of the downward trend or is just a temporary adjustment.
