As the Mahayuti alliance secured a decisive majority in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed gratitude to voters for their overwhelming support. Describing the victory as “landslide,” Mr. Shinde thanked citizens, particularly farmers, women, and elders, for endorsing the development initiatives of his government over the past two and a half years.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the voters and congratulate them for giving us a resounding majority. This is a thumping majority,” said Mr. Shinde, emphasizing the alliance’s commitment to progress and governance.
On the matter of selecting the next Chief Minister, Shinde stated, “We will make a collective decision regarding the chief ministerial post,” signaling a united approach within the alliance.
Addressing criticism from the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), Mr. Shinde remarked, “We chose to respond to their allegations not with counterclaims, but through our work – and the people rewarded us with this victory.”
The Mahayuti alliance’s success marks a significant political moment in Maharashtra, with the focus now shifting to leadership discussions and the path forward for the state.
