In an exclusive interview, Ravi Soni, Executive Director of Aerpace Industries Limited discusses the company’s transformative approach to air mobility, sustainability, and its vision for the future of transportation in India. aerpace is at the forefront of integrating land and air transportation to make mobility more accessible, sustainable, and efficient for people across the country.
1. Could you give us an outline of aerpace Industries and its initiatives to transform air transport in India?
Aerpace Industries is reimagining transportation in a way that connects people, places, and possibilities. We’re building a system that combines land and air mobility to create seamless, accessible, and sustainable solutions. Think of it this way: What if a farmer in a remote village could send their fresh produce to urban markets quickly and affordably? Or if someone could reach their family across states in a fraction of the time, without worrying about congested roads or expensive flights? That’s what aerpace is all about.
From the revolutionary aerWing—an eVTOL aircraft that bridges the gap between ground and sky—to aerDocks, compact and self-sufficient hubs, we’re building an ecosystem that ensures mobility isn’t a privilege but a right. And it’s not just transportation; with initiatives like aerVolt, we’re also fueling India’s renewable energy transition.
2. What inspired the creation of aerpace, and how do you anticipate it benefiting intercity and interstate travel throughout the country, particularly in rural areas?
The inspiration for aerpace came from a simple yet profound realization: movement drives opportunity. Today, people leave their towns and villages, uprooting their lives to move to metros because resources, jobs, and connectivity are concentrated there. But what if they didn’t have to?
India’s rural and remote regions often remain cut off due to bad roads, expensive transport options, or sheer distance. A farmer struggles to sell their goods because transport isn’t affordable. A student misses opportunities because they can’t commute easily. aerpace changes this. With our aerWings and strategically placed aerDocks, we’re ensuring that every region, no matter how remote, is just a flight away from resources and opportunities. This isn’t just about travel; it’s about empowerment.
3. How do you perceive the role of sustainability in your transportation ecosystem? What concrete efforts are you doing to reduce reliance on fossil fuels while reducing environmental impact?
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Imagine this: our aerDocks are like miniature clean-energy hubs. They generate their own power through solar panels and hydrogen plants, fueling both operations and the surrounding community. Unlike traditional systems, we don’t rely on fossil fuels or massive infrastructure, which means our ecosystem reduces emissions and lowers the environmental footprint.
Take this as an example—every aerWing flight powered by hydrogen fuel cells means zero emissions. Beyond that, the surplus energy generated at aerDocks can power homes and businesses nearby, supporting India’s renewable energy goals. We’re building a system that not only moves people but does so responsibly, ensuring a cleaner, greener future for everyone.
4. aerpace’s elementary component, the aerWing, appears revolutionary. Could you tell us more about its capabilities and how they differ from conventional modes of transportation?
The aerWing is unlike anything you’ve seen before. Think of it as a superhero in the skies—not a flying car, but a car that can fly. It’s designed to take off and land vertically, which means it doesn’t need a runway or massive infrastructure. Imagine driving to an aerDock, boarding your aerWing with your car, and flying to your destination. No roadblocks, delays—just seamless travel.
The aerWing is a game-changer, enabling point-to-point travel without the need for traditional airports or congested roads. It’s an all-in-one solution that transforms how we think about commuting, making it faster, more efficient, and more sustainable.
aerpace is paving the way for the future of transportation in India, blending innovation, sustainability, and accessibility to create a new paradigm for travel. With cutting-edge technologies like the aerWing and aerDocks, the company is on track to redefine how we connect across the country.
