See-saw battle between NDA, INDIA in Jharkhand


With counting for the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly currently underway, early trends show BJP-led NDA currently ahead of JMM-led INDIA bloc. The elections were conducted in two phases on November 13 and 20.

The BJP is currently leading in 7 seats, JMM in 5 seats, Congress in 5 seats and RJD in 3 seats, according to early trends by Election Commission.

The AJSU Party is leading on 3 seats and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) on 2 seats.

JMM candidate Hemant Soren is leading from Barhait against BJP’s Gamliyel Hembrom by a margin of more than 2,800 votes.

BJP candidate from Ranchi assembly seat CP Singh said that NDA will form its government in Jharkhand with a huge majority. The way current government is running in Jharkhand, they have set records for corruption, he stated, claiming that no work has been done by this government.
