Anbumani’s poser to TN govt on fighting corruption

PMK leader Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss has criticized the Tamil Nadu government over its handling of a corruption case involving Jahangir Pasha, a municipal commissioner from Ooty.
In a statement, Anbumani highlighted that Jahangir Pasha was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau with a bribe amounting to Rs. 11.7 lakh. However, instead of being imprisoned or suspended, he was shockingly transferred and appointed as the Assistant Commissioner of the Tirunelveli Municipal Corporation.
Anbumani expressed outrage over the decision, calling it a reward for wrongdoing. He contrasted this with how low-level employees caught accepting as little as Rs. 500 in bribes are arrested and dismissed from service. “Despite clear evidence of taking Rs. 11.7 lakh in bribes, no strict action has been taken against Jahangir Pasha. Instead, he has been given a position of authority. What message does this send?” he asked.
He further demanded an explanation from the Tamil Nadu government, questioning its commitment to eradicating corruption. “Is this how the government plans to cleanse the administration and combat corruption?” he asked, urging immediate action to uphold integrity and accountability.
