The much-anticipated Tamil film Tharunam, featuring Kishen Das and Smruthi Venkat in the lead roles, has officially announced its theatrical release date for Pongal 2025. Directed by Arvindh Srinivasan, known for his previous work on the 2022 film Dejavu, Tharunam marks his second directorial venture. His first film, Dejavu, starred Arulnithi in a gripping thriller.
Produced by Pugazh and Eden under the banner of Zhen Studios, Tharunam also stars Raj Ayyappa and Bala Saravanan in key roles. Earlier this year, the makers released a teaser that suggested a blend of romance and action, piquing the interest of fans and moviegoers alike.
Director Arvindh Srinivasan shared insights about the film’s plot, stating that Tharunam revolves around the journey of two characters who meet for the first time, fall in love, and face a series of challenges that test their relationship. The film is expected to delve into the emotional complexities of love and the hurdles that come with it, as the protagonists work to overcome various obstacles.
The film boasts an impressive technical team, with music composed by Darbuka Siva, who is known for his energetic and fresh soundtracks. Cinematography is handled by Raja Bhattacharjee, while editing is done by Arul Elango Siddharth.
Tharunam is set to release not only in Tamil but also in dubbed versions in Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, ensuring a wide audience reach across South India.
