The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has launched a scathing attack on BJP state president K Annamalai for his recent remarks against actor Vijay’s ideology. TVK spokesperson Ramesh Srinivasan accused Annamalai of attempting to garner publicity and attention through his criticism, which he described as misinformed and self-serving.Ramesh emphasized that the TVK stands for secular social justice and that Vijay has clearly stated he doesn’t want to be reduced to a single identity such as Dravidam or nationalism. He also took issue with Annamalai’s analogy comparing the TVK’s ideology to a confusing mix of rasam rice, sambar rice, and curd rice.
“This analogy is not only misleading but also reflects Annamalai’s lack of understanding of the TVK’s core values,” Ramesh said. “We will feast on our ideological enemy, BJP, and our political enemy, DMK,” he added, echoing Vijay’s earlier statement.
Ramesh further stated that Annamalai’s criticism is a desperate attempt to shine a light on himself and his party. He expressed confidence that the people of Tamil Nadu will not be fooled by such tactics, as the TVK stands for inclusivity, social justice, and equality.
The TVK leader also posed a question to Annamalai, asking if he would “disappear without a trace” if the BJP were to lose power at the Centre. Ramesh claimed that Annamalai’s political relevance is tied to the BJP’s presence in power and that he would lose his significance if the party were to lose its grip on power.
“The people of Tamil Nadu are not naive, and they can see through Annamalai’s attempts to divide and rule,” Ramesh said. “We will continue to stand for the values of inclusivity, social justice, and equality, and we will not be swayed by Annamalai’s empty criticism.”
