Minister Ponmudy assured that flood relief operations in Tamil Nadu are being conducted swiftly and urged people not to believe misleading information spread by certain individuals.
After inspecting the disaster control center in Villupuram, he addressed the press yesterday afternoon:
“Owing to the northeast monsoon, several districts in Tamil Nadu have been experiencing heavy rains and flooding. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has taken extensive precautionary measures to mitigate flood damage.
He has directed government officials and ministers to provide immediate relief assistance to those affected by the floods.
The Chief Minister also visited the control room in Chennai and issued instructions to district-level officers to ensure timely distribution of relief materials and assistance to the public.
The government is carrying out flood relief operations at full capacity. Independent observers have praised the Chief Minister’s recovery efforts. However, certain individuals are spreading false claims about delays in relief distribution and the unavailability of relief materials for political reasons.
People should not worry about such misinformation, as the Chief Minister is focused on protecting the public and ensuring their safety.
Relief funds and essential supplies are being distributed thoroughly. If any discrepancies are identified, immediate corrective action will be taken.”
Collector Palani and other officials were present during the inspection.
