AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has announced that the party will stage a protest on December 21 to demand relief for flood-affected families in Villupuram district.In a statement, Palaniswami criticized the DMK government for its lack of preparation during Cyclone Benzal. He highlighted that 1.68 lakh cubic feet of water was suddenly released from the Sathanur Dam at midnight without prior warning, causing severe flooding. This has left many families in Villupuram district struggling after losing their livelihoods.
The protest will be held in front of the Villupuram Collectorate at 10:00 AM under the leadership of former minister C.V. Shanmugam. AIADMK aims to pressure the state government to provide adequate relief to the affected families.
