Christmas celebrations in TN, Special prayers held in churches

Christmas was celebrated with great joy and devotion across Tamil Nadu on December 25, with special prayers, masses, and worship services conducted in churches from midnight. Large numbers of Christians gathered at churches to participate in the celebrations, marking the birth of Jesus Christ.

Churches across the state came alive with midnight masses and special prayers, attended by devout Christians who sang carols, offered prayers, and celebrated the spirit of Christmas. The festive atmosphere was enhanced by beautifully decorated churches, illuminated with lights and adorned with nativity scenes depicting the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem.

To ensure a peaceful celebration, the Tamil Nadu police made elaborate security arrangements across the state. Churches and public areas saw heightened police presence to manage the large crowds and maintain order.

On this occasion, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin extended his warm Christmas wishes. In his message, he said, “I extend my heartfelt Christmas greetings to all Christians who follow the path of love shown by Jesus Christ. Tamil Nadu will continue to be a state where people of all religions live together with equal rights, and the government will work tirelessly to uphold this harmony.”

The celebrations extended beyond churches, with Christian communities organizing cultural programs, charitable events, and feasts to mark the occasion. The streets were adorned with Christmas decorations, and the festive cheer resonated in homes and public spaces alike.
