Chennai: TVK leader and actor Vijay has pledged to ensure women’s safety, declaring, “I will stand as a shield for women.”

Vijay had earlier condemned the incident of sexual harassment involving a student at Anna University. In this context, he penned a heartfelt letter addressing women, expressing his concerns.

In the letter, Vijay wrote:
“From educational institutions to every corner of Tamil Nadu, I am deeply disturbed and anguished by the social injustices, law and order breakdowns, and sexual crimes affecting mothers, my beloved sisters, and girls of all ages.

Whom should you turn to for your safety? We have appealed to those in power countless times, only to see no concrete results. Hence, I am writing this letter. I assure you that I will stand firmly by your side in every situation—as your elder brother and as a shield.

So, focus on your education without fear. Together, we will create a safer Tamil Nadu. This promise is one we will achieve collectively and soon.”

Through this letter, Vijay reaffirmed his commitment to women’s safety and empowerment, urging unity in the fight for a secure and just society.
