The countdown has begun for the release of Tharunam, a thrilling romantic drama starring Kishen Das, Smruthi Venkat, and Raj Ayyappa. With just a week left until its release on January 14, 2025, the makers have unveiled an intense trailer that promises an exciting blend of romance, action, and suspense.
The 2.39-minute trailer opens with a gripping murder scene, setting the tone for the rest of the film. The story takes us back to the life of Arjun (Kishen Das), whose seemingly perfect relationship with Meera (Smruthi Venkat) starts to unravel. The conflict intensifies as Raj Ayyappa’s character, a close friend of Meera, becomes jealous of their romance. The escalating tension between the characters leads to dangerous consequences, leaving Arjun caught in the crossfire. While the film’s full plot remains unclear, the trailer hints at a compelling mix of romance and suspense with plenty of action.
Directed by Arvindh Srinivasan, known for the 2022 film Dejavu, Tharunam marks his second directorial venture. The film is produced by Pugazh and Eden of Zhen Studios, with Bala Saravanan playing a key role in the movie. Earlier this year, a teaser was released that indicated the film’s romantic premise with elements of action, and the trailer further solidifies this direction.
The film’s technical team includes Darbuka Siva, who has composed the music, Raja Bhattacharjee as the cinematographer, Arul Elango Siddharth handling editing, and Don Ashok and C. Prabhu choreographing the stunts.
Tharunam is set to release on January 14, 2025, coinciding with the festive occasion of Pongal. In addition to its Tamil release, the film will also be available in Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, expanding its reach to a wider audience.
