Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced the establishment of an AI Technology Park in Coimbatore, emphasizing the government’s focus on cyber security. He made this statement during the inauguration of the Umagine TN Tech Summit at Nandambakkam, Chennai.
Addressing the audience, Stalin said, “This summit paves the way for a sustainable and prosperous future for Tamil Nadu. Our state has always been a pioneer in promoting business and technology. We are taking significant steps in emerging technologies and electric vehicle production, ensuring impactful transformations.”
He expressed his delight in participating in the third premier IT summit, which has attracted over 2,000 entrepreneurs. “Tamil Nadu has become a leader in innovation and industrial growth. With advancements in AI technology, job opportunities will increase significantly. As part of these efforts, an AI Technology Park will be established in Coimbatore,” he stated.
Focus on Cyber Security and Digital Advancements
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state’s initiatives in ensuring digital safety and advancing infrastructure. “We prioritize cyber security and are formulating policies to address digital crimes. Free Wi-Fi zones have been set up in 1,204 locations across parks and public spaces in Chennai. Our goal is to ensure balanced growth across urban and rural areas by establishing ELCOT technology parks in smaller towns as well.”
Stalin added that Tamil Nadu is dedicated to creating and promoting Tamil-based software solutions, stating, “We have always been a state that embraces innovation and experimentation with emerging technologies.”
Growth in e-Governance Services
The Chief Minister also highlighted the expansion of e-governance services under his administration. “In 2021, there were 14,927 e-service centers. By 2024, this number has grown to 34,000, showcasing our commitment to bringing governance closer to the people.”
He concluded by reiterating his vision of a digitally empowered Tamil Nadu, aiming for sustainable development and innovation-led growth.
