Rajinikanth’s landmark film Baashha is set to make a grand comeback on the big screen, this time with cutting-edge 4K resolution and Dolby Atmos sound. Presented by Sathya Movies, this re-release celebrates several milestones: the 30th anniversary of Baashha, the 60th golden jubilee of Sathya Movies, and Rajinikanth’s 50th year in cinema.
Produced by Arulalar Thiru R.M. Veerappan and directed by Suresh Krissna, Baashha originally hit theaters in 1995 and became a game-changer in Indian cinema. The film, a gangster drama, redefined commercial action films and became a cult classic. Starring Rajinikanth, Nagma, Raghuvaran, Charanraj, Anandraj, Janagaraj, Vijayakumar, Yuvarani, and others, the movie enthralled audiences and etched itself in the hearts of Tamil Nadu and beyond.
Upon its initial release, Baashha was a massive success, running for an unprecedented 15 months in theaters and becoming a career-defining film for Rajinikanth. The movie was also remade in several languages, further cementing its place in Indian cinema history.
Now, this cinematic masterpiece is being remastered with state-of-the-art technology to provide a modern viewing experience while retaining its nostalgic essence. With 4K visuals and Dolby Atmos sound, the film promises to deliver a theater experience comparable to contemporary releases.
R.M. Veerappan’s son, Thangaraj Veerappan, will oversee the re-release on behalf of Sathya Movies. The official release date for this remastered version of Baashha will be announced soon, and fans are eagerly waiting to relive the magic of this iconic film.
