The Southern Railway has announced a special unreserved MEMU express train service between Chennai Egmore and Madurai to cater to the increased demand for travel during mid-January. This service aims to offer passengers a convenient and affordable travel option.

Train Details and Timings

Chennai Egmore to Madurai (Train No. 06061)

The special MEMU train will leave Chennai Egmore at 10:45 AM on January 18, 2025 (Saturday) and arrive in Madurai at 7:15 PM the same day. The journey duration is approximately 8 hours and 30 minutes, providing an unreserved express service.

Madurai to Chennai Egmore (Train No. 06062)

In the return direction, the train will depart from Madurai at 4:00 PM on January 19, 2025 (Sunday) and reach Chennai Egmore at 12:45 AM on January 20 (Monday). This journey will take about 8 hours and 45 minutes, ensuring passengers a quick overnight return trip.

The train will pass through several key stations along the route, facilitating easy boarding and deboarding for travelers. Some of the prominent stops include:

Chengalpattu
Villupuram
Vriddhachalam
Trichy
Dindigul
