AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) has strongly criticized the DMK government for failing to ensure women’s safety in Tamil Nadu. In a scathing statement, EPS alleged that even women police officers are not spared from rising crimes under Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s administration.
Highlighting recent incidents, EPS stated, “Under DMK’s Stalin-led administration, the lack of safety for women has worsened to the point where even women police officers are vulnerable. Reports of eight women, including an assistant inspector at the Chennai Commissioner’s Office, falling victim to chain-snatching incidents are shocking.”
The AIADMK leader blamed the deteriorating law and order situation on the inefficiency of the DMK government, holding CM Stalin directly accountable as he oversees the police department.
EPS alleged that the DMK government’s failure to maintain law and order has emboldened criminals. He criticized the government’s inability to protect even those tasked with ensuring public safety, such as police officers.
“The DMK government has neglected its fundamental duty of ensuring the safety and security of its citizens. If even women in uniform are not safe, it raises serious concerns about the safety of the general public,” EPS added.
EPS urged the ruling government to take immediate and decisive action to restore public trust in the administration. He emphasized the need for stricter measures to curb the rising crimes in Tamil Nadu and ensure the safety of women across the state.
