On the occasion of Republic Day, a tea reception hosted by Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi at the Raj Bhavan saw the participation of AIADMK, BJP, and other parties.While it is customary for the Governor to host a tea reception on Republic Day, this year, the Tamil Nadu government, DMK, Congress, VCK, CPI, CPI(M), and other allied parties announced a boycott of the event.
Despite the boycott, the reception held at the Raj Bhavan this evening was attended by High Court judges, BJP leaders Annamalai, H. Raja, and Sarathkumar, and AIADMK representatives including former ministers D. Jayakumar and Balagangadhar. TMC leader G.K. Vasan and DMDK deputy secretary Sudheesh also participated in the event.
