The makers of RM 34, Ravi Mohan’s upcoming film, unveiled its official title along with a title reveal teaser on Wednesday. Directed by Dada fame Ganesh K Babu, the film has been named Karathey Babu, hinting at an intriguing political drama.The teaser presents a setting reminiscent of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, where veteran actor and director KS Ravikumar, playing a politician, questions the ruling party’s interest in discovering the previous name of a minister from his camp. Nasser’s character responds, emphasizing that names hold significant value. The teaser then introduces Ravi Mohan’s character, an MLA from RK Nagar, who clarifies that while he is now known as Shanmugha Babu, he was once called Karathey Babu. This playful reference mirrors Ravi Mohan’s real-life name change from his popular screen moniker, Jayam Ravi.
The film features Daudee Jiwal, daughter of Tamil Nadu’s Director General of Police (DGP) Shankar Jiwal, as the female lead. The extensive supporting cast includes KS Ravikumar, Nasser, Shakthi Vasudevan, VTV Ganesh, Subramaniam Siva, Kavithalayaa Krishnan, Pradeep Antony, Raja Rani Pandian, Sandeep Raj, Knife Naren, Sindhupriya, Ajith Gosh, Aravindh, Kalki Raja, Sri Dhanya, Anandhi, Ilan, Sam Anderson, Vetrivel, and Nandhini Senthamizh.
