Chennai: Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday reviewed the progress of the North Chennai Development Project and expressed confidence that North Chennai would be transformed into a ‘developed Chennai’ within a year.
Speaking to the media after inspecting the project status in his Kolathur constituency, Stalin recalled that while the initial allocation for the North Chennai Development Project was Rs 1,000 crore, it has now increased to Rs 6,309 crore due to the collaboration of various departments and ongoing projects.
He noted that out of 252 projects, around 30 have been completed, while 166 are in advanced stages and nearing completion. Stalin has instructed officials to complete the remaining work within the next year.
The CM emphasized that HR and CE Minister PK Sekar Babu, the Mayor, area MPs, and MLAs are actively monitoring and expediting project execution. He also directed Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin and other ministers to conduct regular reviews. Confident in the progress, Stalin asserted, “North Chennai will become a developed Chennai in a year.”
