‘Stalin neglecting L&O’

Leader of Opposition and AIADMK chief Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) launched a scathing attack on the DMK government, accusing it of failing to ensure the safety of women and children in Tamil Nadu. He condemned the rise in sexual offences and demanded strict action against the perpetrators.
Mocking the ruling dispensation, Palaniswami stated, “Sexual offences against women and children are rising under the Stalin-model government. This is deeply concerning.” He further criticized Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, alleging that he is more focused on tours and photoshoots than addressing the deteriorating law and order situation in the State.
“Your actions are like Emperor Nero, who played the fiddle while Rome burned,” the AIADMK leader said in a social media post, ridiculing Stalin’s governance.
Citing the recent sexual assault of a Class IV student in Tiruchy, Palaniswami pointed out that children were not even safe in their own schools. “The incident took place in the Education Minister’s native district. What does the Chief Minister have to say about this?” he questioned. He also highlighted reports suggesting that another student had been assaulted in the same school, demanding severe action against the culprits.
Palaniswami also brought attention to the shocking case of a pregnant woman being sexually assaulted on a moving train in Vellore. “Women are unable to walk safely on roads, girls are unsafe in schools and colleges, and now they are not even secure while traveling by train. This is a disgraceful situation,” he remarked, slamming the DMK government for its alleged negligence in ensuring women’s safety.
The AIADMK chief further expressed shock over the alleged attack on a woman sub-inspector (SI) in Sivagangai district, reportedly by members of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK). He lamented that even police personnel were not safe under the DMK regime.
“When police officers are attacked inside their own stations, what more proof is needed that law and order has collapsed in Tamil Nadu?” he questioned, calling the incident a mockery of governance.
Palaniswami urged the Chief Minister to take decisive action against criminals and prioritize law and order instead of political engagements. He insisted that the government should act swiftly to restore safety and security in the State, particularly for women and children.
With increasing instances of violent crimes making headlines, the AIADMK leader’s sharp criticism has intensified the political debate over law and order in Tamil Nadu. The ruling DMK is yet to respond to these allegations.
