The hospital, which currently sees 600 inpatients and over 5,000 outpatients daily, will now offer comprehensive treatment across various specialties, including cardiology, neurology, oncology, and urology.
New Facilities: The new building, constructed at ₹71.81 crore under the World Bank project, will feature:
Cardiology, ICU, Accident & Emergency Units
MRI, Dialysis, Blood Bank, AC Patient Wards
Modern laundry, Central Pharmacy & Laboratory
5 Elevators, Central Sterile Services, Help Desk
Government Support & Expansion
Under the North Chennai Development Project, Health Minister M. Subramanian and HR & CE Minister P.D. Sekarbabu have handed over ₹84.17 crore to the TN Medical Services Corporation to procure advanced medical equipment.
Originally a 100-bed hospital, it was upgraded to 300 beds in 2021 and is now expanding to an 860-bed facility.
A total of 803 staff members, including 102 doctors and 236 nurses, will be appointed to enhance healthcare services.
The new hospital building will be officially inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on February 28. This marks a significant step toward improving medical care in North Chennai.
