Thirupparankundram hill belongs to Lord Murugan: L Murugan

Union Minister L. Murugan has stated that the Thirupparankundram Hill rightfully belongs to Lord Murugan, citing a court ruling affirming the same.
L. Murugan, along with Hindu Munnani leader Kadeswara Subramaniam, visited the Kasi Viswanathar Temple atop Thirupparankundram Hill. However, a dispute arose when police allegedly restricted the entry of party cadres, leading to a brief altercation.
Addressing reporters, L. Murugan emphasized the central government’s support for Tamil language and culture, stating:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has continuously promoted Tamil as an ancient language on the global stage, including at the United Nations.
The Kashi Tamil Sangamam has been organized for the past three years to honor and promote Tamil culture.
The BJP has given great importance to Tamil, unlike the Congress and DMK, who allegedly attempted to block Jallikattu events in Tamil Nadu.
It was PM Modi’s intervention that ensured the continuation of Jallikattu, a traditional bull-taming sport.
The minister criticized the Tamil Nadu government for allegedly renaming Kandhar Malai as Sikandar Malai, calling it a misrepresentation of history. He reaffirmed that Thirupparankundram is a Shaivite sacred site and urged the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department to take immediate steps to light the traditional lamp at the hilltop temple.
