CM inaugurates world’s tallest data center in Chennai


Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday inaugurated the world’s tallest data center, developed by CtrlS Datacenters, in Chennai. The state-of-the-art facility, located in the Ambattur industrial area, marks a major investment in the region’s digital infrastructure.

The project entails an investment of ₹4,000 crore and is expected to generate 500 direct jobs while attracting an indirect investment of ₹50,000 crore, said Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Chairman of CtrlS Datacenters, in an interaction with DT Next.

The Chennai campus will feature 1 million sq ft of space spread across two interconnected buildings, boasting a power capacity of 45 MW and 28 MW, respectively. The site also includes an on-site substation to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

CtrlS, one of Asia Pacific’s largest Rated 4 hyperscale data center service providers, has a strong presence in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Noida, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, with additional edge locations in Lucknow and Patna.
