AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) has accused the DMK government of failing to ensure the safety of women, stating that crimes against girls and elderly women have increased under its rule.
Speaking at an event marking the birthday of former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, EPS recalled that during AIADMK’s tenure, her birthday was observed as State Girl Child Day. He expressed concern over the increasing cases of sexual harassment in schools, emphasizing that such incidents were strictly curbed during AIADMK’s rule.
EPS urged the government to provide proper guidance to teachers in girls’ schools to prevent cases of sexual abuse. He added that while only a few teachers may be involved in misconduct, their actions tarnish the reputation of the entire teaching community.
He reiterated AIADMK’s commitment to ensuring the safety of women and criticized the DMK for its failure to maintain law and order in the state.
