Popular actress Nayanthara has officially expressed her wish to be addressed without a moniker, asking fans and the media to refer to her simply by her name. In a statement released on Tuesday, she thanked her supporters for calling her “Lady Superstar” but emphasized that she prefers to be known as Nayanthara, as it is the name closest to her heart.Explaining her decision, she mentioned that while titles and accolades are valuable, they can sometimes create a distinction between an artist and their work. She believes that names should reflect an individual’s true self, both professionally and personally.
This move aligns with similar requests from veteran actors like Kamal Haasan and Ajith Kumar, who have previously discouraged the use of titles associated with their names.
On the professional front, Nayanthara was last seen in Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food. Additionally, her life and career were explored in the Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, released last year. She has an exciting lineup of films across multiple languages, including Test, Mannangatti Since 1960, Dear Students, MMMN, Toxic, Rakkayie, Mookuthi Amman 2, and an untitled Tamil project with Vishnu Edavan.
