The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has scheduled a crucial Members of Parliament (MPs) meeting in Chennai on March 9, ahead of the second session of the Parliament Budget Session, which is set to begin on March 10.

The meeting, chaired by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin, will bring together DMK Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs to discuss the party’s parliamentary strategy. The official announcement regarding the meeting has been issued by the party leadership.

During the meeting, CM Stalin is expected to provide guidance on how DMK MPs should conduct themselves in Parliament, particularly in addressing key issues concerning Tamil Nadu. The party will deliberate on its political stance and strategy for the upcoming parliamentary debates.

It is also anticipated that Stalin will instruct MPs on which topics to prioritize while participating in discussions, especially in the context of the Union Budget, state rights, federal policies, and other pressing national and regional matters.

Additionally, the meeting is expected to focus on the role of DMK MPs in parliamentary proceedings, ensuring that they effectively represent the party’s viewpoints on the floor of the House.

With the second session of the Budget Session of Parliament commencing on March 10, the DMK is preparing to actively raise significant issues. The party has consistently voiced concerns about: Tamil Nadu’s rights in the federal structure, Financial allocations to the state, Social justice and reservation policies, NEET exemption and education policies, Welfare schemes and economic policies affecting the state

Sources say that MPs will be guided on their approach during debates and discussions, Discussion on Key Issues – Identifying the most pressing matters to be raised in Parliament and Strategic Coordination – Aligning with opposition parties where necessary and strengthening DMK’s stance in national politics.
