In a shocking case of suspected gang rivalry, two men were brutally hacked to death by an armed gang in Kotturpuram late on Sunday night. One of the deceased, identified as Padappai Suresh, was a known history-sheeter, police sources said.The gruesome attack took place around midnight when Suresh and his friend were conversing on the street. According to eyewitnesses, a gang arrived on three two-wheelers and surrounded the duo. Sensing imminent danger, Suresh and his companion attempted to flee, but the assailants chased them down and launched a vicious assault using deadly weapons.
Local residents, alarmed by the commotion, rushed to the scene and informed the police. The injured men were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.
Following the attack, law enforcement authorities swung into action, forming three special teams to trace and apprehend the suspects. Preliminary investigations suggest that the murders could be linked to previous gang-related conflicts in the city.
Police officials are currently scanning CCTV footage from the area and questioning potential witnesses to gather leads on the attackers. Further investigations are underway.
