The government on Friday approved Delhi High Court judge Justice Yashwant Varma’s transfer to his parent Allahabad High Court in the cash haul case. He has been directed to assume his position and take charge at the High Court in Uttar Pradesh.
However, the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, for the time being, has been asked not to assign any judicial work to Justice Varma, when he assumes charge as a Judge there.
This came a day after the government said it was reviewing Justice Varma’s matter and would be taking a decision on his transfer in a day or two.
Additionally, the Centre also approved the Supreme Court Collegium recommendation of the repatriation of another Delhi High Court judge, Justice Chandra Dhari Singh, to the Allahabad High Court, which had been pending for months.
