Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, and leaders of various political parties extended their Ramzan greetings to the Muslim community, highlighting the values of kindness, reflection, and brotherhood associated with the festival.
In his statement on Sunday, CM Stalin emphasized the significance of fasting for 30 days and helping the underprivileged. He recalled that Prophet Muhammad led a simple and disciplined life, always advocating for charity and unity.
Quoting the Prophet, Stalin said, “Give the worker his wages before his sweat dries,” stressing the importance of justice and fairness in society.
AIADMK Promises to Stand by Muslim Community
AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami, in his message, recalled the various welfare initiatives taken by his party for the Muslim community.
“Ramzan is a time of purity, generosity, and reflection. During AIADMK’s tenure, several welfare schemes were introduced for Muslims. I assure you that AIADMK will always stand as a protector of the Islamic people,” he said.
Congress Calls for Secular Unity
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president K. Selvaperunthagai also extended his greetings, emphasizing the need to safeguard minority rights.
“To protect the rights of minorities, secular progressive forces should align under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. The Tamil Nadu Congress party wants to reaffirm that secularism means treating all people equally, regardless of caste, creed, or religion,” he stated.
Other Leaders Extend Wishes
Several other leaders, including MDMK chief Vaiko, Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK), and expelled AIADMK leader O. Panneerselvam, also conveyed their Ramzan greetings, highlighting the importance of peace, harmony, and unity among communities.
Ramzan, a sacred month in Islam, marks a time of spiritual reflection, fasting, and acts of kindness, culminating in the celebration of Eid-al-Fitr.
