Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has sought an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss concerns regarding the delimitation process.
In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, Stalin emphasized the need for a meeting along with Members of Parliament from various parties to present their concerns on the issue. He also shared this letter on his official social media platform.
“We have requested an urgent meeting with you to convey our united stance on this critical issue. I am writing this letter following the resolutions passed at the Joint Action Committee (JAC) meeting held in Chennai,” Stalin stated in his social media post.
The letter further extended warm greetings to the Prime Minister and expressed hope for a positive response. Stalin reiterated the need to submit a petition on behalf of the JAC, which was formed after extensive discussions among representatives of multiple political parties.
“On March 22, 2025, a historic Joint Action Committee meeting on âFair Delimitationâ was held in Chennai. The meeting brought together Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, and key leaders representing various political ideologies from across India. The discussions reflected voices from different regions, transcending political boundaries, and highlighting concerns over fair representation in our parliamentary democracy,” Stalin wrote in his letter.
Given the significance of the issue, he urged the Prime Minister to grant an audience to formally submit the petition on behalf of the committee. “We look forward to your response at the earliest,” he concluded.
The letter has now sparked political discussions, with various parties keenly watching how the central government will respond to Tamil Naduâs demand for a fair delimitation process.
