Veteran actor Suresh is set to make a grand comeback in a lead role after several years with Thalir, directed by Vijay Sri G. The much-anticipated film’s title teaser is scheduled for a grand launch in Malaysia on April 19.Suresh, who rose to fame with the 1981 classic Panneer Pushpangal, has been a familiar face in supporting and negative roles across Tamil and Telugu cinema. He was last seen in Rewind (2024), a Telugu sci-fi thriller directed by Kalyan Chakravarthy. Now, Thalir marks his return to a leading role, promising an engaging cinematic experience.
Produced by GV International, a Malaysia-based production house, Thalir boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Dato Ganesh, widely known as the ‘Malaysian Rajinikanth’, along with Anithra Nair, Mottai Rajendran, Deepa, Singam Puli, and more. The music is composed by Rashaanth Arwin, known for his work in Haraa.
Director Vijay Sri G, known for his films Dha Dha 87 (2019) starring Charuhaasan, Powder (2022) featuring Nikil Murukan, and Haraa (2024) with Mohan, is expected to deliver another high-octane entertainer with Thalir.
Backed by Dato Ganesh and Vishal, Thalir is being produced on a grand scale. The film’s shoot has recently commenced, with filming planned across India and Malaysia. With its powerhouse cast and a promising director at the helm, Thalir is set to be an exciting addition to Tamil cinema.
