Actor Shanmugapandian’s upcoming film Padai Thalaivan, directed by U Anbu, has finally locked its release date. After initially planning to hit theatres during the Pongal holidays, the makers have now confirmed that the action-adventure film will release on May 23.Touted to be an out-and-out action thriller, Padai Thalaivan is set against a forest backdrop. The trailer hinted that the story revolves around the lead character and the troubles caused by his elephant.
A special highlight of the film is an appearance by the late actor-politician Vijayakant, Shanmugapandianās father, recreated through AI technology.
Director U Anbu, known for films like Walter (2020) and Rekhla (2022), has helmed this venture.
The cast also includes Kasthuri Raja, Yamini Chander (granddaughter of filmmaker AC Tirulokchander), Munishkanth, and Rishi Rithvik in important roles.
Music for the film is composed by Ilaiyaraaja, while the screenplay and dialogues are penned by Parthiban Desingu.
The technical team features cinematographer SR Sathish Kumar, editor S Elayaraja, and stunt choreographer Mahesh Mathew.
Padai Thalaivan promises to deliver a gripping and thrilling ride when it arrives in theatres this May.
