After the tremendous public response to the Kathipara Urban Square project, Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is gearing up to develop similar vibrant public spaces in Adyar and Velachery.CMRL has shortlisted three major locations for redevelopment: Indira Nagar MRTS, Station, Along Broken Bridge, and Near Velachery MRTS Station.
These areas are proposed to be transformed into recreational and commercial hubs, modeled on the success of Kathipara Urban Square, which revitalized the space under the Kathipara flyover with eateries, seating, and children`s play areas—attracting large weekend crowds.
