
The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations has officially declared the Class 12 public examination results today, May 8, 2025, at 9:00 AM. This yearâs results reflect a commendable performance by students across the state, with an impressive overall pass percentage of 95.03%.
A total of 7,92,494 students appeared for the exams. Among them, 4,19,316 were girls and 3,73,178 were boys. Girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 96.70%, while boys recorded 93.16%.
In terms of school categories, private schools registered the highest pass percentage at 98.88%, followed by government-aided schools at 95.71% and government schools at 91.94%.
District-wise, Ariyalur topped the charts with a remarkable pass percentage of 98.82%, followed by Erode (97.98%), Tiruppur (97.53%), Coimbatore (97.48%), and Kanyakumari (97.01%).
Several students scored perfect marks in key subjects. Computer Science had the highest number of 100/100 scores with 9,536 students achieving perfection, followed by Chemistry (3,181), Mathematics (3,022), Commerce (1,624), and Accountancy (1,240).
Students can access their results by entering their roll number and date of birth on the official websites www.tnresults.nic.in and results.digilocker.gov.in. Results have also been sent via SMS to the registered mobile numbers. Additionally, they are available for free viewing at National Informatics Centres in district collector offices and all central and branch libraries.
Notably, the results were announced a day earlier than originally scheduled, as they were initially set for release on May 9, 2025
